Silver Snapshots from Mary's Window

Rolling Hills

A hillside Orchard

Apple and Peach Trees

above Creme de menthe' green

The fruit trees reside in perfection

A natural lattice, in zig zag patterns

Carefree

Children at play

Along the Orchard's steep floor

Natural 'dips'; perfectly

aligned to collect rain water

Like the 'dips' of cool water

my Grandfather drank from

the Ladle he kept hanging

next to the sink on the

back porch

A FIXTURE, A CONSTELLATION

Just like the Big Dipper and Little Dipper

Constellations my Father pointed out to me

in the night sky.

Information Bombs

Poem by Mary Margaret Park

information

tons of it

compression waves

spilling from our computer screens

A-bombs crowding

the mind’s horizon

origins

unknown

time slot stampede

marked and dated

obsolete upon arrival

the relevant

and the arcane

random and

specific

a vast

weigh station

of data

a race for the latest

it’s eclipse

             knowledge
